(regarding a thread about the higher costs in
the vintage bicycle collecting world and the
phenomenom of "parting-out" old bikes...)

my initial reaction to this is a side-bar to an
as yet unreplied to question last week which was
(essentially...), "what's wrong with making money
with this hobby?".

the reaction is this:
why is it a sad state, and why is it "bad" if these items
go from one economic range to another? it doesn't have
to mean that the bicycles or their parts are loved
less; they're just going to someone with more money.
